Our approach
Innovation and teaching strategies that bring the best out of pupils are employed. The Christ Church school’s approach is a well-crafted programme that utilises teaching techniques, innovation in teaching and learning, technology and strategies to ensure the best outcome in learning. This approach also ensure that children and young persons are not limited in the senses they must utilise to acquire skills and knowledge and also to understand processes.
Discussions, role play and various forms of teaching and learning simulations are employed to engage pupils in our effort to arrive at an effective teaching and learning outcome. It is always about broadening the scope and providing the learner with more options to acquire what is being presented. These processes are assessed and evaluated by our team of teaching and learning experts to ensure the processes and strategies consistently improve to benefit the learner.

The academic curriculum / Our Lessons
The Christ Church School’s teaching and learning programmes have been carefully crafted to ensure the skills and knowledge components of the curriculum are thoroughly presented to and demonstrated by learners and young people. The structures the school has put in place will not only build the relevant skills that children and young persons are expected to develop but will also ensure skills that are relevant for now and the foreseeable future, are thoroughly emphasised in the teaching and learning programme.
An excellent academic programme in our belief does transcend impressive academic results. Our benchmark in academic excellence, among other things, include a child or young person who is confident in expressing views and ideas, capable of analysing complex text, has the ability to contextualise, innovate and create. It is a programme designed to inspire and cause children and young persons to aspire.
It is a programme transcends excellent academic results. It is a well-crafted programme that develops pupils’ ability to analyse, think critically, contextualise, reason, solve problems, and identify patterns in simple and complex situations. It’s about nurturing a mindset that seeks to thrive in any learning context and enjoy learning for its own sake. In developing our programme, extensive literature on teaching and learning have been reviewed and we have assessed what will work in our environment.
Developing pupils’ ability to analyse, thinking critically, contextualising, reasoning, solving problems, and identify patterns in simple and complex situations are interwoven into all aspects of our teaching and learning programme.
The Christ Church School way is a system that emphasises cross-curricular link and explores alternatives to the abstract. It is a system that explores the kinesthetics and / or tactile, the visual and auditory as well as the concrete and pictorial aspects of how learners develop their skills. Optimising the child’s senses to ensure he/she acquires the relevant skills is a priority.

Skill Focused
We prioritised the acquisition of skills by learners. We consider the content as important tool to equip our pupils with the skills they require in all aspects of their life. Without neglecting the content(letter) of the curriculum we teach the embedded skills(spirit) are the most essential ingredient in our effort to develop the child. Critical thinking, problem solving, analysis and interpretation, teamwork, leadership, public speaking, technological literacy, awareness of global trends in social and economic developments etc are very relevant aspects of the child’s development that is at the heart of the child’s development.
03
Art and Drama
Art and Drama are integral to the school’s programme. This is another channel for pupils to express their skills, thoughts and ideas and priority will be given to it. Every child will be required to participate in these activities as a regular school activity as well as extended activities.
04
Sports (We value Play)
Academic success is important but making a child’s experience an amazing one requires an institution that carefully blend play and work. An amazing educational experience places value on children’s experience in the classroom without sacrificing what goes on outside the classroom. The Christ Church experience has been designed to ensure children benefits from their experiences outside the classroom. The world outside the classroom is a much bigger space and for the child to go into the world, enjoy and be successful in what he/she does, a well-structured programme that respects outdoor activities as much as the indoor ones is most ideal for children and young persons.
Activities are carefully selected to give young people experiences they will cherish and value for life. The school will introduce and encourage people to engage in a wide range of sporting activities, from the very popular ones to the not so popular. The Christ Church School’s co-curricular activities intends to give children and young persons a wonderful school experience.
